Dear Friend of Fieldstone,
During my career in the corporate world, we were always taught to develop a team that would be capable of operating the ship if we were to move on. In ministry, gospel-minded organizations, the same should be true. As a board member, I have recently had the opportunity to watch this take place at Fieldstone Counseling. While we are in a time of transition, the mission of Fieldstone has continued as strong as ever, providing high-quality Biblical Counseling to those in need.
God has truly blessed us with a high-caliber leadership team focused on the mission of Fieldstone. We are also so thankful to have Jonathan Holmes continue to give some of his time to Fieldstone during this transition, in his new role as Founder Emeritus. This will allow for his continued influence on and in Fieldstone as it relates to strategy and mission. God has also provided Isaac Van Epps as our interim Chief Operating Officer, who has provided tremendous support and stability to Fieldstone in this time of transition. We are also deeply grateful to Karen Corcoran, our Director of Operations, and the broader leadership team for the commendable work they do at Fieldstone every day.
As a board, we had our annual retreat in June. There, we welcomed new board members, presented Jonathan with the position of Founder Emeritus, reflected on God’s goodness, and took steps to continue moving forward with the search for an executive director. We feel extremely blessed that, with the current leadership in place, we can work with both patience and a sense of urgency to bring in the person of God’s choosing as our next executive director. We look forward to bringing you updates from our newly formed search committee.
Finally, thank you for how you support Fieldstone. Your financial support is critical to our ability to continue to provide excellent counseling at affordable prices. We ask for your continued prayers for our team of counselors, those receiving counseling through Fieldstone, and our search for our next Executive Director. Dear Friend of Fieldstone,
It is with mixed emotions that we want to share with you that after 9 years of being our founding Executive Director at Fieldstone Counseling, Jonathan Holmes has accepted God’s call to join CCEF (Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation), as the Executive Director. Under Jonathan’s leadership over the past nine years Fieldstone Counseling has gone from being birthed in 2017 to becoming one of the leading biblical counseling centers on the globe. It has truly been a privilege for this board to serve alongside Jonathan and see God’s hand both on him and the mission of Fieldstone Counseling.
Jonathan will continue to spend time over the next several months with Fieldstone Counseling to assure a smooth and uninterrupted transition. He will also hold the position of Founder Emeritus to continue to provide strategic input and insights into biblical counseling needs and how Fieldstone can best meet those needs.
Concurrently, I am pleased to share that Isaac Van Epps will join Fieldstone as our Interim Chief Operating Officer. Isaac has an extensive background and a heart for biblical counseling. He has served on the board for several years, has taken the role of leading our Counselor Care Committee, and has built strong relationships with the broader team. Isaac will be able to provide steady, Christ-centered, and biblical counseling expertise to Fieldstone during the transition time while the board searches for our next Executive Director. Isaac will be assisted by Karen Corcoran, who will continue to serve as the Director of Operations, managing the day-to-day operations of the organization.
During this season of transition, Fieldstone’s foundation and mission remain the same—providing lasting hope for life’s hardships through biblically-based, Christ-centered, and clinically-informed counseling. Please join the Board in prayer for the Fieldstone team during this transition, Isaac for wisdom and a steady hand as he takes on this leadership role, and Jonathan as he transitions into this exciting new role, and for how God will use him to strengthen the educational aspect of Biblical Counseling. We have seen God’s ongoing provisions, direction, and care for Fieldstone, and we are excited to see what more He will do in the years to come.

this is a letter I never imagined I would be writing. After nine years of service and leadership at Fieldstone Counseling, I will be transitioning to serve in the role of Executive Director at CCEF (Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation). Since May of 2025, I have been serving as the Interim Executive Director, and through the Lord’s leading in my family’s life and the call of CCEF’s Board of Trustees, I have accepted the call.
The transition is incredibly difficult and bittersweet. The past decade of my life has been dedicated to serving and building a counseling ministry that would offer true, lasting hope for life’s hardships through biblically-based, Christ-centered, and clinically informed counseling.
What began as a small team of six counselors meeting in one room at Parkside Green has blossomed beyond anything I could ever have imagined.
My only solace in leaving is knowing that I am entrusting Fieldstone Counseling into wise, caring, and capable hands. The Board of Directors at Fieldstone Counseling has taken wise and swift action to help provide stability and guidance during this season. They are a group of men and women that I am proud to serve alongside and will continue to do so.
They have chosen wisely from within the next interim operating officer, Pastor Isaac Van Epps. Isaac Van Epps is a true pastor-counselor whose heart for leaders will be a perfect fit for an organization in transition. Karen Corcoran, who will be serving in the #2 role, has been by my side since day one, and I fully trust her character and ability to provide critical, daily leadership to the team.
While there is sadness with my departure, please know that the mission and vision of Fieldstone is far greater than me and will extend far into the future, Lord willing. As my time at Fieldstone comes to a close, I hope to communicate more with you, but for now, please know that it has been the greatest honor of my life to serve this organization and love and lead the people of it.

Serving as a board member for the past several years has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. With deep gratitude and humility, I now step into this role, recognizing that Fieldstone is the Lord's ministry, built and sustained by His faithful hand (Psalm 127:1). As a pastor, my heart is to shepherd and support our gifted team of counselors and staff through this transition, providing care, fostering unity, offering direction, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. I'm deeply thankful for Karen Corcoran and the leadership team—Jamie Danemiller, Melissa Affolter, Sarah Shaw Ojeda, and Joe Hussung—who have faithfully overseen Fieldstone; Karen will continue leading daily operations with her steady wisdom, while Jonathan provides strategic guidance through year's end. What remains unchanged is our strong, Christ-centered foundation: a dedicated team of counselors who love the Lord and people, delivering lasting hope through biblically based counseling. I look forward with excitement to building on this legacy alongside our staff, partners, ministry leaders, and supporting churches. The ministry's growing impact comes only from God’s grace and from supporters like you—who pray, give, refer those in need, and stand with us. May the Lord continue building His house through Fieldstone for His glory and the good of those He loves. Thank you—your prayers and partnership mean more than words can express.
