Information & Resources for COVID-19

Our Policies

We’ll be sharing updates about our operations, services, and initiatives here at Fieldstone Counseling as the situation continues to unfold here in Ohio, our nation, and the world.

Monday, June 1

Fieldstone will be gradually re-opening our counseling office locations beginning with Fieldstone Green on June 15. In-person appointments will be scheduled at the discretion of each individual counselor and based on each counselee’s availability and needs. Please contact your counselor directly to discuss how you will proceed for upcoming appointments.

Thorough protocols are being implemented and executed at Fieldstone Green to ensure the safety of counselees who will be returning for in-person appointments. Information about what is required for counselees in-person appointments can be found on our website. We want you to know that we care about your safety in this process and we look forward to getting to meet face to face again.

Friday, April 3

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Fieldstone Counseling will remain open and complete all counseling sessions remotely using secure, HIPAA compliant platforms (Google Hangouts + Doxy.Me). In recognition of the changing nature of the current crisis we cannot estimate when we will be able to re-open our physical locations. We pray that this will be soon and we look forward in eager expectation to the time when it is safe and wise to meet in person again. We are grateful for our remote platforms that enable us to continue our care for those who are hurting during a crisis like this.

A FEW WORDS OF REMINDER

  1. Please be patient during this time if you are currently a counselee of Fieldstone. Your counselor will be in touch and explain everything you’ll need for your remote appointments. If you have emergency questions, please email our office.

  2. If you know of someone who could benefit from speaking with a counselor during this time, please direct them to our Intake page. We are open to taking new counselees.

  3. Would you join us as we continue to pray for all who are affected by this crisis—healthcare workers, teachers, students, restaurant workers, church leaders, part-time employees/commission only employees, small business owners, and others. In addition, pray for those who are struggling with symptoms amplified by this crisis—those struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship issues, and more.

Thursday, March 12

In light of the recent news conference from Governor Mike DeWine (March 12, 2pm) Fieldstone Counseling will be closing all of its office locations in Northeast Ohio for a minimum of 2 weeks beginning Monday, March 16. All counseling sessions will be transferred to remote counseling via a video-chat service. Fieldstone counselees will still be able to participate in their counseling sessions remotely, schedule new sessions, and receive gospel-centered care during this global pandemic.

Your counselor will be reaching out regarding the rescheduling of your sessions. If you have any questions, please email us at office@fieldstonecounseling.org. We ask in advance for your patience and understanding during this season of uncertainty and transition.

Wednesday, March 11

Dear Friend of Fieldstone,

Yesterday afternoon Ohio Governor Mike DeWine provided an update on the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation in our state with the support of the Ohio Department of Health.

Fieldstone Counseling is currently monitoring communication coming from both the governor’s office and the Ohio Department of Health. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Household Planning Checklist has provided a valuable reference tool for help in preparing for this situation.

COUNSELING

For those who are receiving counseling at one of Fieldstone’s four office locations, please note the following:

  • If you are experiencing any flu or flu-like symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing, or fever, please do not come in for your counseling appointment. All such cancellations will not incur our cancellation fee. Check here for a list of COVID symptoms.
  • If you would like to move your in-person appointment to a remote appointment, please contact your counselor directly to arrange that.
  • Fieldstone will monitor local school and church closings in each of our office locations to determine when and how we will temporarily close our offices.
  • During this current season we encourage you to wash your hands before and after your session. Counselors will not be shaking hands or engaging in any physical contact before or after session.
  • For those experiencing increased anxiety or unsettled feelings, we encourage you to read through this brief article from The Gospel Coalition on the coronavirus. [This article was written on March 3, 2020 before there were known, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US]

SAFETY MEASURES

  • Fieldstone counselors and staff will not hold in-person sessions if they are experiencing the flu or flu-like symptoms.
  • If a Fieldstone counselor or staff has come in contact with a known coronavirus individual, Fieldstone is mandating that they self-quarantine for a minimum of 14-days from counseling at one of our office locations.
  • Our Lakewood Open House scheduled for March 19 at 6:30 pm is canceled.

FORMS OF COMMUNICATION

Fieldstone Counseling will continue to communicate with counselees and supporters through our newsletter and will post updates on the website and Facebook/Instagram/Twitter pages. If you are a Fieldstone counselee and your contact information has changed, please email the front office at office@fieldstonecounseling.org to ensure we have the most up to date information.

OUR PRIORITY

Counselee and counselor health are of utmost importance. We will continue to provide updates as additional guidance from federal, state and local government agencies becomes available. The difficult decisions, planning and precautionary steps taken now are in an abundance of caution. We are committed to taking difficult but necessary preemptive and precautionary measures. We are committed to the communication of facts, as they are made available to us.

Lastly, please pray for those around the world who have been infected and affected by COVID- 19, that the Gospel would be believed as people are confronted with the fragility of life and the hope of new life in the Lord Jesus.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

Fieldstone Counseling Team
