Shepherd Life: Help and Hope For Pastors & Ministry Leaders

Friday, February 21

The interior life of the pastor and ministry leader is deep and often uncharted territory. As men and women in ministry take on additional burdens and pressures, they more often have no one to process their own concerns and hardships. Pastoral ministry is both a high calling as well as a dangerous calling. This brief, 1/2 day seminar will endeavor to address three areas of pastoral life and ministry:

  • The Pastor's Calling: High & Dangerous
  • Pastoring Yourself
  • The Pastor: Congregation Relationship

This seminar is being hosted by the team at Evermore Community Church and will be led by Fieldstone Counselor Bob Shull, an ordained pastor who has served in ministry for over 28 years.

Cost: $25 (cost includes continental breakfast and lunch at the Hartville Kitchen + materials)

Blessed is he whose help is in the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. (Ps. 146:5)

Shepherd Life Cohort

Saturday, March 4

The purpose of the Shepherd Life Cohort (SLC) is to provide an interactive small group experience for Christian pastors and ministry leaders who want a safe place to:

  1. Discuss challenging areas of ministry, and
  2. Determine practical “next steps” tailored to their lives and particular situations in ministry.

Through assigned pre-reading and reflection thoughts/questions, monthly group discussions, and individual time with the cohort director, participants will hopefully grow in their personal and ministry lives, their relationships with fellow “shepherds,” and most importantly, in their relationship with the Chief Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This cohort is for ministry leaders (pastors, church/ministry staffs and boards, missionaries, etc.) who have either previously participated in the Shepherd Life seminar, or who have a desire to grow in their personal and ministry leadership.

Cohort begins on March 4 and will be held for 8 consecutive months on the first Wednesday of each month (March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7)

Participants: 8-12 people (male/female) committed to fully participating in terms of preparation, attendance, discussion, and prayer for one another. Maximum of two absences.

Cost: $600 per participant—Includes preparation content for each cohort topic and one, 1-hour counseling/consultation session with the Cohort Director (a scholarship fund is available for those in need of financial assistance).

Cohort Director: Bob Shull, Fieldstone Counselor and ordained pastor for 30 years.

Information about the cohort topics can be downloaded here.

Untangling Emotions

Saturday, March 7

Join Fieldstone Counselors Sarah Keene and Laura Hudson as they offer a biblical perspective on emotions for women and young girls.

This workshop will equip women with a biblical perspective on emotions. Participants will learn about why our feelings are a gift (not a curse!) from God, the morality of various emotions, and how to respond to difficult emotions in a holy way. The hypothesis that you can actually change how you feel will be discussed. A portion of the seminar will be dedicated to helping children engage with difficult emotions as well. If you have ever felt stuck in a negative emotion or felt controlled by your feelings, then this workshop is for you!

Cost: $30 individual ($20 for each additional family member)
Scholarships are available upon request (info@fieldstonecounseling.org)
