Remote Counseling

Our counselors use one of three platforms for remote sessions: Google Hangouts, Zoom, or Doxy.Me. Prior to your session, you will receive an e-mail from your counselor with information about what platform you will use and you will be provided a link to log in. Your counselor will confirm with you which of these systems you will use. Please use this page as a help to you in getting started. Doxy.me is listed first and is the primary platform used. If using Google Meets please scroll to the bottom of this page.

Note: Our remote counseling services can offer meaningful and impactful care in many situations. However, we do not recommend our remote counseling services for situations of abuse, addiction, and extended family relationships. We have found that these situations are best served by organizations or medical services that are geographically near to you.

GETTING STARTED

Your counselor will reach out to you directly to schedule your first counseling session. Once a session time has been agreed upon your counselor will add the session to your Biblicare counseling account. You can view this appointment by logging into your counseling account and selecting "My Care".  Biblicare will send an automated message to remind you of the session details and to provide you with the link to the session. To begin the session there is no log-in or special accounts needed, simply use the steps outlined below. The primary platform used to host the sessions is called Doxy.me. If a different platform is preferred by your counselor then they will let you know that information.

Please communicate any technological issues or complications to your counselor immediately and they will assist you or reschedule your session if necessary.

We ask that Remote Counselees read and sign an additional document called the Remote Counseling Expectations and Contract. This document outlines specific details that will enable your remote counseling to be the most effective.  Please sign and return it to us before your first session by using the link below or submitting it through your counseling account.

DOXY.ME

Step One

You will receive an automated message from Biblicare prior to your session that includes the link to your individual counselor's Doxy.me account. This same link will be used every time you meet together. You can also view this link by logging into your Biblicare account, selecting "My Care," and looking at your upcoming session details.

Step Two

When you click on the provided link you will be brought to this screen. You may be asked to give access to your microphone and webcam. If so, allow Doxy.me access to these features. Type in your name and click “Check In”. You will be placed in Doxy.me’s virtual waiting room.

Step Three

Once your counselor has signed on, you will notice their logo and name appear in the upper left corner of the screen. When your counselor is ready, they will begin the call and the video will begin. You won't need to do anything from this point on. The below picture is an example of what it will look like when your counselor joins.

DETAILS

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel an appointment contact your counselor directly as soon as possible. We ask that you give at least a 24 hour notice for cancellations.

If you fail to give us a 24-hour notice we would ask you to provide a $50 donation for your missed appointment (unless the cancellation was due to an emergency.)

Your Counselor

Please reference our About Us page to learn more about our Fieldstone Counselors and identify with whom you’ll be meeting during your appointments.

SUGGESTED DONATION

Square Email

Our default system for processing your suggestion donation is an email-based system called Square. This a secure system that allows us to send an email directly to you through which you can give for your sessions using a credit or debit card. The email address that you use to fill out your intake form will be the address to which these emails are sent, unless otherwise specified. Here’s an example of what this email will look like:

If you would prefer to use cash or check, we would be happy to accommodate that! The difference in processing is that we will mail a hard copy of your invoice to your home with a pre-addressed return envelope to our main office included. Again, if you would prefer to use this hard copy system you will need to contact us directly to specify this preference.

Our finance department can be reached on from 9:00am - 4:00pm during the work week by email finance@fieldstonecounseling.org or phone at (330) 826-1290.

We ask that you do not exceed more than two outstanding invoices, as we don’t want the accumulation of invoices to become a burden to you.

Scholarships

We never want finances to stand in the way of you receiving Gospel centered biblical counseling. Please reference our Scholarship page if you are interested in receiving assistance.
