ABOUT

Ben works as a biblical counselor through Fieldstone as well as a clinical counselor through Christ Community Chapel. He completed his schooling at Kent State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master of Education (M. Ed.) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After graduating from Kent State, Ben took part in a two-year internship at Christ Community Chapel while also receiving a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies (MATS) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Post-internship, Ben served as a full-time staff member at CCC as a part of the care ministry team from 2018-2020 where he oversaw the support group and prayer team ministries.

Ben values the integration of theology and psychology in the counseling process, seeking to come alongside others in order to assist them in living physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually healthy lives. Though he believes in the importance of a holistic approach to health and healing, Ben emphasizes the significance of spiritual health, one’s relationship with Christ, and viewing life through a biblical lens. Ben’s primary counseling experience has been working with individual adults and his areas of competence include depression, anxiety, adjustment and transition, decision-making, relational issues, and grief. Ben is married to Samantha and the two of them enjoy camping, hiking, reading, and gardening. At this stage in life they have one child, a pup named Macy. Ben and Sam attend Riverwood Chapel in Kent, Ohio.
